Sun Surfaces of Orlando
First Place Stamped Concrete Overlay Over 1500 SF
Project Name: Orlando Vineyard Wine Store
Project Address: Orlando, Florida
Total Square footage: Over 1500 square feet
When J Tulford and Associates contacted us they had one goal in mind and that was to add tile to the design of the restaurant at a fraction of the cost of to install Italian Slate. Sun Surfaces of Orlando was asked to give a price to stamp just their restaurant in a one color tile effect. After many samples and conversations back and forth, we won over the owners and were awarded the contract to stamp both the restaurant and the retail store.
One of the biggest challenges we faced was taking the stamped concrete right up to the edge of tiles without the tiles breaking or cracking. After extensive research, we decided to use a Schluter strip between the wood tiles and the stamped concrete. One of the other challenges we were faced was making the top row of the European Fan stone pattern a different stain color than the rest of the pattern. With many hours of taping off the top row of the pattern and staining the area with two colors, the end product came out with brilliant two colors look to a unique pattern.
When customers come and shop for their next bottle wine in Lake Mary and ask the store manager who did their tile install, he is correcting them every time and telling them that it is stamped overlay and was installed by Sundek.
