Sundek of Washington

First Place Stenciled Spray Texture Over 1500 SF

Project Name: Omni Shoreham Hotel
Project Address: Washington, DC
Total Square footage: Over 1500 square feet

When we got the call from Humphrey Rich Construction (HRC) about renovating the front entrance of this prominent Washington, DC hotel, we were faced with many challenges. Upon initial inspection of the property, the area to be resurfaced was a mess! It was old, cracked and covered with paint and old tile. What HRC was looking for was a beautiful entrance to enhance this very prestigious hotel that will be hosting one of the biggest Inaugural Balls in the area. After removing the old existing coatings and putting down our product, what started as a concrete nightmare transformed into a classic, functional and attractive herringbone pattern that was worthy of presidential parties and visiting dignitaries and businesspeople.

This location was one big construction challenge. The most important challenge? How to conduct the demolition and reconstruction without interfering with the daily functions of the hotel and guest comfort. We achieved this by doing small sections at a time, using dust-collecting vacuums and working strictly during specific time frames as laid out by the hotel. This hotel is extremely busy all the time and working around the time constraints proved difficult at times, but we were able to take care of our customers in a manner that was completely agreeable.

Our customer was so satisfied with the work that they contracted us to re-do the island at the main entrance and have since called to thank us for our outstanding work and professionalism.
